GETTING INVOLVED

The Plan has come out of a 2 year collaboration between The Rathcormac Community Council and the UCC planning school (the Centre for Planning Education and Research)

It looks at the Rathcormac village itself together with its wider functional rural hinterland.

The vision and ideas of the plan were developed through community-based workshops and supported by policy analysis and best practice inputs from UCC.

It brings forward a vision for jobs and investment in the whole area; for improving the village centre (including urban design and proposals for the Fair green); the character of the landscape and heritage assets of the whole area

It forms the basis for public, private and community groups and organisations to co-ordinate their programmes and actions behind a common vision for the area.

Rathcormac Community Council in partnership with UCC, Cork Co. Council and AvondhuBlackwater Partnership and the Tomar Trust have been awarded €122,500 for a range of studies that will begin the process of #Rathcormac 2030

These studies are

1) Heritage Landscape     2) Fair Green Revitalisation

3) Urban Village Design   4) Employment Sustainablilty and Investment opportunities

5) Tourism Potential
